Youth on Sunday! (school years 7 - 13 ... ages 11-18)

Sunday is a great time for exploring issues of life and faith together and we aim to do this in a fun, creative, exciting way. On a 'normal' Sunday our young people will spend a short while in the church service taking part in worship and then take some time out to spend in their own group. 'Youth on Sunday' rotates between weeks of Bible Study, Acts of Service, Prayer & Worship, Fellowship and Sermon Skills. Here's a bit more info about what each type of session looks like:

Bible Study - we love the Bible! And we love exploring it together and learning new things about what God says through it. These sessions are often small group based with lots of activities and discussion.

Acts of Service - so much of the Christian faith is about how we love and serve others! Our Acts of Service sessions are a great opportunity for us to get practical and show love to those around us. These sessions have included doing a litter pick, delivering handmade cards of encouragement to people who are in need and leading a Praise Party for the childrens' groups.

Prayer & Worship - it's such a honour to be in a relationship with God! These sessions are all about celebrating that and taking quality time with our Heavenly Father. Some sessions are pretty mellow, but prayer does not always have to be quiet and we love exploring new, fun ways to pray and worship together.

Fellowship - our friendship with each other matters! We love taking time out to enjoy each other's company. We play games, eat food, catch up about life and celebrate the community that God has given us with one another.

Sermon Skills - we want to equip our young people for a lifetime of conntectedness with the church - wherever in the world that may be! As an adult in church, a key part of Sunday church is listening to the sermon. During these sessions we want to equip the young people with skills for engaging with this style of teaching. We get together for an intro beforehand, sit together during and debrief afterwards - we try to get creative with listening and note taking - post its and sweets are often involved!

The group runs during both the 9am and 11am services.
